How to Measure for a Valance Kit and Screen. Gain Access - Remove any decorative elements to gain easy access to fireplace opening. Tape Measure - We recommend using a slightly flexible tape measure. Pen & Paper - To record your measurements. The width of your fireplace opening.
Opening width is between 36" wide to 48" wide. Valance kit fits BEST in openings between 36" and 48" wide. Smaller openings may require modification to valance and/or rods. From the top of the opening where the valance will mount to the bottom directly below. Than fireplace opening height to accommodate top valance kit and bottom clearance.
